World AIDS Day
December 1st is recognized all over the world as World AIDS Day, and is a day to focus and reflect on the AIDS epidemic and the effects felt internationally. HIV/AIDS is one of the greatest challenges currently faced by humanity, and youth are increasingly becoming the face of the epidemic. They are the children orphaned by AIDS, the AIDS activists struggling for change and increasingly AIDS sufferers themselves, as youth represent almost one-third of people living with HIV/AIDS worldwide. That is why youth involvement, action and perspective on the HIV/AIDS epidemic is so vital.
